About

I believe that using the rhetorical tradition can help us better understand contemporary communicative phenomena like digital media. In my research, the classical tradition is blended with more contemporary scholarship drawn from cultural, critical, and aesthetic studies. Some of my recent projects ask questions like: What happens to traditional conceptions of aesthetics when they are translated into the digital realm? How are traditional aesthetic experiences altered or impoverished when viewing or listening to digitally mediated art? How are traditional political campaigns altered by their translation into viral YouTube videos?
